What is UKCA Marking?

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking.

The UKCA marking can be used from 1st January 2021. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to the new requirements, you will still be able to use the old CE marking until the 1st January 2022 in most cases. You are encouraged by the UK Government to be ready to use the UKCA marking as soon as possible.

For details of exceptions please refer to www.govuk/guidance/using-the-ukca-marking

The rules applying to goods for sale in Northern Ireland differ from those applying to GB (England, Wales and Scotland).
